If I was the director of Macbeth, I would have emphasized Macbeth holding a real dagger. Also showing his full decision to killing the king clearer and straight forward. ‘’With this dagger! I shall kill king Duncan and soon I will be thane of Cumberland! Other than talking about it in such a deep and evil matter.

‘’Is this a dagger which I see before me/ A dagger of the mind, a false creation/

When imagining the dagger, the audience believes he’s gone crazy. That he has lost all character and emotion.
